Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs mutton trotters paya
  • 5 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ medium onion finely sliced
  • cup olive oil extra virgin
  • 3 cup water
  • 1 tbsp yogurt

Whole Spices

  • 4 cloves
  • 5 black peppercorns
  • 4 green cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 mace jivitri

Powder Spices

Garnish

  • green pepper
  • cilantro
  • ginger
  • fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Make sure you wash all the trotters properly.

Instant Pot

  • Turn on the Instant pot, on sauté mode, add water and let it come to a boil.
  • After it come to boil add in red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, and 3 tbsp ginger garlic paste.
  • Now add in the trotters and cover the lid, hit the Pressure Cook setting and let it timer on for 20 minutes. (According to the IP or pressure cooker the timing may vary but the trotters should be fully cooked.)
  • Vent the air out after 20 minutes make sure trotters are cooked.
  • In a new pot on stovetop, on medium heat, add in oil let it heat up.
  • Add in cumin seeds, green cardamom pods, black peppercorns, and cloves.
  • Now add onion and sauté it until light brown.
  • Add in yogurt and mix well.
  • Add in ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add the coriander powder and mix well.
  • Now add the gravy and trotter from the IP to the pot.
  • Let it sauté it for 10 minutes on medium to low heat.
  • Add garam masala and mix well.
  • Now cover it and let it cook on 5 minutes on low.
  • Garnish and serve it with a naan.
