- 1 bottle gourd (Lauki)
- 1½ cup split chickepea chana dal
- ⅓ cup olive oil or any neutral oil
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 cup water
- 1 green pepper
- 1 tomato
Whole spices
- 2 black cardamoms
- 4 green cardamoms
- 5 black peppercorns
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4 cloves
Soak the lentil over night.
In an Instant Pot, on sauté mode, add oil, let it heat up.
Add green pepper and whole spices.
Next add onion and brown the onion.
Add tomato and ginger garlic paste.
Mix well.
Add lentil and water.
Mix well.
Let it come to a boil.
Cover the lid, and select pressure for 3 minutes.
Vent the steam out.
Add bottle gourd (lauki) and mix well.
Close the lid and pressure for 2 minutes.
Vent the steam out.
Garnish with mint and cilantro.
