- 2 medium-size potatoes cut in cube
- 1 cup peas frozen
- 1 lbs ground beef
- 2 medium tomatoes roughly chopped
- ⅓ cup olive oil or any neutral oil
- 1 medium onion finely sliced
- 1 serrano pepper (green pepper) roughly chopped
- 3 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- ½ cup yogurt
- ½ cup water
Whole spices
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 1 black cardamom
- 4 green cardamoms
- 5 black peppercorns
- 1 dried long red pepper
Garnish
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cilantro finely chopped
In a medium size pot or skillet, add olive oil, on medium heat, let it heat up.
Now add whole spices, let it sizzle for 10 seconds.
Add onion and green pepper and let it sauté until brown.
Now add ginger garlic paste and mix.
Add tomatoes and mix.
Now add salt and powdered spices and mix.
Next add ground beef, break the ground beef if need and cook the ground beef for few minutes until no longer pink.
Add yogurt and mix.
Now add potatoes and mix.
Cover and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame or until the ground beef and potatoes are fully cooked.
Add peas and mix well for 2 minutes.
Garnish with lemon juice and cilantro.
Serve it hot with a hot chapati and some kachumber.
