Quick 30-Minute Aloo Matar Keema is a Pakistani style potato, peas, and ground beef curry. It's easy and flavorful. Serve with Chapati.

    WHAT IS ALOO MATAR KEEMA?

Quick 30-Minute Aloo Matar Keema is a potato, peas, and ground beef curry. It's the ultimate definition of comfort food. My mother used to cook it for me through out school and college at least once a week. This recipe takes me back home to Kansas. This Pakistani dinner recipe originated in Pakistan.

Aloo Matar Keema is a classic recipe. There are some Keema recipes like Dum Ka Keema and Anda Keema that you won't find in any restaurant but they sure are a hidden staple in Pakistani cooking.

    INGREDIENTS

    • Potatoes- I used golden medium-sized potatoes but red potatoes can be use as well.
    • Ground beef- I used ground beef but ground chicken or ground lamb can be use as well.
    • Olive oil- I used olive oil but you can any neutral oil.
    • Ginger Garlic paste- I used homemade ginger garlic paste but store-bought ginger garlic paste can easily be substituted.
    • Whole and powdered spices- These ingredients will bring warmth and flavor to this recipe.
    • Yogurt- I used homemade full fat yogurt but low fat store-bought yogurt can easily be substituted.

HOW TO MAKE ALOO MATAR KEEMA?

    Add oil and whole spices.

Now add green pepper and onion.

    Add ginger garlic paste.

    Now add tomatoes.

    Add salt and powdered spices.

    Next add ground beef.

    Add yogurt.

Now add potatoes and water let everything cook.

It should look like this after it gets done cooking.

    Add peas.

    Mix well!

    Enjoy!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH ALOO MATAR KEEMA?

Aloo Matar Keema is served with fresh Homemade Chapati and my daughter loves it along some plain yogurt.
