Ingredients

Marinate

Curry

  • ¼ cup olive oil or any neutral oil
  • 1 medium onion roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 4 medium tomatoes roughly chopped
  • 1 serrano pepper green pepper (roughly chopped)
  • ½ cup water

Powdered spices and salt

Instructions

  • Discard the tail shells of the shrimp.

Marinate

  • In a medium-size bowl, add shrimps, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, lemon juice, and yogurt.
  • Mix and marinate for 15 minutes.

Curry

  • Meanwhile, chop the onion, tomato and green set aside.
  • In a medium-size pot or skillet, on medium heat, add olive oil, and let it heat up.
  • Next add onion and green pepper and lightly sauté it until the onion softens.
  • Add tomato and sauté everything for 30 seconds.
  • Turn off the stove.
  • Now add onion, tomatoes, and green pepper to a blender.
  • Blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  • Now add the smooth paste from the blender back into the pot or skillet.
  • Turn on the stove and let it heat up.
  • Add 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and mix.
  • Now add ½ cup of water and mix.
  • Add powder spices and salt and mix.
  • Now add the marinated shrimp and mix well.
  • Place the lid on the pot or the skillet and let it cook for 10-15 minutes or until the shrimps are fully cooked.
  • Turn off the stove.
  • Serve immediately with warm rice.
