Quick 15-MInute Homemade Aloo Chaat is fried potatoes tossed in tangy, mildly spiced chutneys and a blend of flavorful spices.

Ingredients

Powdered spices and salt

  • ¼ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp anardana powder dried pomegranate powder (head crushed, make sure it's not lumpy)
  • 2 tsp chaat masala powder
  • ¼ tsp black salt
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt

Garnish

  • ½ tsp sev
  • 1 tsp pomegranate
  • a sprinkle of cilantro

Other Ingredients

  • 8 cups olive oil or any neutral frying oil

Instructions

  • Peel the skin off the potatoes and cut them in medium cubes.
  • In a wok, on medium heat, add oil, and let it heat up.
  • Once it's heated add the potatoes.
  • Deep fry the potatoes until they are medium golden and crispy from the outside this process should take 5-7 minutes.
  • Take out in a bowl, remember to use slotted spoon to make sure they are no excess oil when placing the potatoes in a bowl.
  • Turn off the stove.
  • Now add powder spices, salt, and Green Chutney in the bowl with fried potatoes.
  • Next add Khaati Meethi Chutney and lemon and give it all a good mix.
  • Garnish with sev, pomegranate, and fresh cilantro.
  • Enjoy!!!

You can adjust this recipe to suit the flavors of Aloo Chaat, adding or omitting ingredients as desired, but be sure to keep the fried potatoes.
