Quick 15-Minute Homemade Aloo Chaat is a popular street food in Pakistan and India. It features fried potatoes tossed in tangy, mildly spiced chutneys and a blend of flavorful spices. This dish comes together quickly and is ideal for Ramadan, a light appetizer, or a convenient snack.

    WHAT IS ALOO CHAAT?

Quick 15-Minute Homemade Aloo Chaat is a popular Pakistani/Indian appetizer. It features fried potatoes topped with Green chutney, Khaati Meethi Chutney, and a blend of tangy seasonings and spices. This chaat is mildly spiced yet tangy and bursting with flavor. Originally from India, Aloo Chaat has become widely enjoyed across Pakistan, especially in Karachi.

This Aloo Chaat is a unique recipe. Unlike many other Pakistani/Indian chaats, such as No-Cook Chana Chaat with yogurt or Dahi Puri Chaat, it doesn’t include papdi. This is NOT a gluten-free recipe because of thee Khaati Meethi Chutney has the ingredient of all purpose flour in it.

    WHAT IS CHAAT?

First of all, the word "Chaat" comes from the Urdu/Hindi word "Lick". Chaat is savory, tangy, and tarty yet sweet with the help of Khaati Meethi Chutney and Green Chutney. Chaat can be found at birthday parties, street food, tea party or Iftar table during Ramadan.

    INGREDIENTS YOU NEED!!!

    • Potatoes- For this recipe, I used golden potatoes and peeled off the skins.
    • Green Chutney- It's a one of kind green chutney recipe with black salt as a secret ingredient.
    • Khaati Meethi Chutney- It's delicious and this is a freezer-friendly chutney recipe.
    • Powdered spices and salt- This will give the Aloo Chaat a tangy and mild spiced flavor.

    HOW TO MAKE ALOO CHAAT?

Peel the potatoes and cut them in cubes.

    Fry the potatoes.

Take them out in a bowl.

Add salt, powdered spices, and Green Chutney.

Now add Khaati Meethi Chutney and give a good mix.

Next garnish with sev, cilantro, and pomegranate.

    HOW TO STORE ALOO CHAAT?

First and foremost, this recipe is so delicious that you likely won’t have any leftovers. However, if you do, simply store the Aloo Chaat in an airtight container in the refrigerator it will last 2-3 days. Note that this recipe is not suitable for freezing.

Hey Friend, You’ve made it this far, so now we’re basically best friends! If you make this recipe, I’d love for you to give it a quick review & star rating ★ below. Make sure you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
