    Tangy Sirka Pyaz With Cilantro

Tangy Sirka Pyaz With Cilantro is a flavorful and tangy side that pairs perfectly with any Pakistani or Indian dish. It comes together in no time and adds a tasty pickled kick to your meal!

    SIRKA PYAZ

Tangy Sirka Pyaz With Cilantro is a delicious little side dish that adds the perfect crunch to many Indian/Pakistani recipes. It’s usually made with red onions and gets its signature tangy, pickled flavor from vinegar. In fact, “Sirka Pyaaz” literally means “Vinegar Onion”!

I was introduced to Sirka Pyaaz just a couple of years ago while having them with Dal Makhani—and OMG, I instantly fell in love! The flavor was incredible. Then I tried them with Chicken Biryani and even with Moong Masoor Dal, and they were just as amazing. That tangy, pickled flavor seriously blows my mind every time!

    INGREDIENTS

    • Onion – Sirka Pyaaz is usually made with red onions for the best flavor, but my husband once tried it with white onions. It’s not exactly the same, but it still works just fine!
    • Red Chili Powder & Salt – The red chili powder adds a little spicy kick, even though this recipe is pretty mild overall.
    • Cilantro – This herb adds a nice burst of fresh flavor to your Sirka Pyaaz.
    • Green Pepper – Adds just a subtle hint of heat to round it all out.

    HOW TO MAKE SIRKA PYAZ?

Cut the onion in circular pieces.

    Break apart the circles.

Mix the rest of the ingredients together.

    Done!!!

    HOW TO STORE IT?

Sirka Pyaaz isn’t a freezer-friendly recipe, but it stores really well in the fridge. Just keep it in an airtight container or jar, and it’ll stay fresh for about 4–5 days.

Hey Friend, You’ve made it this far, so now we’re basically best friends! If you make this recipe, I’d love for you to give it a quick review & star rating ★ below. Make sure you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
