Tender Homemade Pakistani Beef Karahi
Equipment
- Instant Pot
Ingredients
- 1 lbs beef
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- 4 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 green peppers slitted
- 4 tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 3 tbsp Homemade Karahi Masala
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tbsp cilantro
Whole spices
- 2 green cardamom
- 1 black cardamom
- 1 cinnamon stick
Garnish
- 1 tbsp cilantro
- 1 inch ginger julienne
Instructions
- In an Instant Pot, on sauté mode, add oil and let it heat up.
- Add beef and sauté the beef for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Next add ginger garlic paste and mix well for 2-3 minutes.
- Add onion and mix well.
- Next place the whole tomatoes in the Instant pot along with tomato paste.
- Mix everything well for 3-4 minutes.
- Next add homemade karahi masala and mix well for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add fresh lemon juice and cilantro and mix well.
- Close the lid, select pressure, pressure it for 25 minutes or until the beef is tender.
- Vent the steam out and open the lid.
- The gravy would be runny.
- Give it a good mix.
- Then let it cook on sauté mode for 5 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
- Garnish with ginger and cilantro.
- Serve it immediately with a hot naan or chapati.
