Tender Homemade Pakistani Beef Karahi is a true gem in Pakistani cooking. This recipe elevates the dish by using a Homemade Karahi Masala instead of store-bought versions, making it not only more flavorful.

    WHAT IS BEEF KARAHI?

Tender Homemade Pakistani Beef Karahi is a mouthwatering beef recipe from Pakistan. Featuring tender beef cooked in a flavorful tomato-based curry. This Pakistani main dish recipe uses a Homemade Karahi Masala, free from preservatives, and is topped with fresh cilantro and zesty ginger.

Traditionally, it’s served with hot, fresh  Chapati or naan for a fulfilling meal. With Mutton Karahi being the top recipe on the blog and Chicken Karahi in the top 10, I’m confident this Beef Karahi will soon join the ranks of the top 10 as well.

2 bowls with beef karahi and a tomato on the side.

Since getting married, I always make sure to have Karahi—whether chicken, mutton, or beef—at any dinner I host. It's my go-to dish when I'm unsure about what to make, and I always keep homemade Karahi masala on hand.

WHICH CUT OF BEEF IS BEST FOR BEEF KARAHI?

For this Pakistani recipe boneless beef is ideal. It's flavorful and tender.

CAN I MAKE BEEF KARAHI WITH CHICKEN?

Yes, of course Beef Karahi can be made with chicken with is recipe or the Chicken Karahi recipe.

HOW SPICY IS THE BEEF KARAHI?

A typical Karahi recipe is known for its mild spiciness, but if desired, the amount of red chili powder can be increased for a spicier taste.

    INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED!

    • Tomatoes- The fundamental component in any Karahi dish are tomatoes. Place whole tomatoes in Instant Pot.
    • Beef- Ensure that the beef being cooked is fresh.
    • Ginger Garlic Paste- Nothing beat Homemade Ginger garlic paste.
    • Homemade Karahi Masala- Takes few ingredients but preservative free.

    HOW TO COOK BEEF KARAHI?

    Add oil and beef.
Next add green pepper and whole spices.
    Mix well.
    Homemade Ginger Garlic Paste
    Add onion.
    Then add tomatoes.
    Then add Homemade Karahi Masala.
    Cilantro.
    Now pressure it.
It should look like this. Now let it cook until the gravy becomes thick.

Hello again! I posted earlier this year on your Chicken Karahi recipe post; I loved that recipe, and I was now interested in trying this version of Beef Karahi (in my Instant Pot) with fresh Qurbani beef that arrived during Eid last month…

OMG, this recipe was an even bigger hit with my husband than the chicken recipe!!!

He loves beef curries (or anything beef), and he also loves Pakistani/Indian dishes from restaurants… with your blend of homemade spices, and listing precisely the rest of the ingredients, and following your detailed instructions (with pictures as well as watching the video), this recipe hit the spot for him and me, not to mention how easy and less time consuming it was to make this! My daughter loved the gravy sauce! Thank you very much for sharing this treasure!
