WHY MAKE THIS RECIPE?
- It surpasses the Trader Joe's rendition of Chicken Tikka Samosas.
- This makes for an excellent Pakistani appetizer.
- It derives its rich, natural flavors from our homemade Tikka masala.
- Indulge in the ultimate experience with these triangular-shaped pastry samosas filled with chicken tikka.
TIPS
- You have the flexibility to opt for vegetable oil when frying, although my personal preference leans towards the use of olive oil.
- For an alternative cooking method, consider using an air fryer or toaster oven, ensuring the use of a baking sheet or the designated air fryer liner.
- In case you don't have ginger garlic paste at hand, ginger powder and garlic powder can serve as suitable substitutes.
- When folding two layers of samosas, it's essential to cover the unused sheets with a damp paper towel to prevent them from drying out.
- To achieve an ideal level of folding precision and ensure the desired crispiness, it's advisable to consistently employ a pair of sheets when wrapping the Samosa.
INGREDIENTS
- Homemade Tikka Masala- I strongly recommend using homemade tikka masala because the store-bought one differs the taste.
- Chicken- I have used chicken breast for this recipe but chicken thighs can easily be substituted.
- Ginger garlic paste- I prefer the homemade ginger garlic paste but store-bought can easily be substituted.
HOW TO MAKE THE FILLING FOR CHICKEN TIKKA SAMOSA?
Cut the chicken into bite-sized shown in this picture.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, cover, and marinate overnight.
Just add everything in a fry pan and cook.
HOW TO FOLD THE SAMOSA?
Take 2 sheets out. You're going to fold each samosa in two sheet for a crispier samosa.
Honestly for these following steps please see the video.
For the samosa sheets that are not being used at the moment cover them with damp paper towel.
HOW TO STORE THEM?
Among the array of freezer-friendly Pakistani recipes featured on the blog, this one stands out as exceptionally adaptable. To initiate the freezing process, neatly arrange the samosas in a horizontal manner inside a ziplock bag, leaving a minimal gap of ¼ to ½-inch between each piece.
Safely seal the ziplock bag and place it horizontally in the freezer, ensuring that the samosas do not touch. Let them freeze for a duration of 30 to 60 minutes. After this initial freezing period, you can space them more liberally in the freezer, as they will no longer stick together, even if they come into contact.
WHICH SAMOSA SHEETS TO USE?
Over the years, my mother and I have embarked on a quest to find the perfect bed sheets. However, our search came to a triumphant end when we discovered this particular set due to its exceptional quality. I've included an image below to showcase the one I wholeheartedly recommend.
WHAT TO PAIR THIS RECIPE WITH?
Like many Pakistani appetizers and Iftar recipes like Beef Samosa, Chicken Samosa & Pakistani Beef Patties Chicken Tikka Samosa also usually pairs well with Cilantro Chutney (Green Chutney) or Khatti Meethi Chutney.
