Sarah: I'm back with a new recipe, it's my brother's Zinger burger recipe. This recipe is invented in 2020 quarantine era. I told him to open his own restaurant serving this zinger burger, YUP! it's that good. It's yummy and easy. Zinger burger is a juicy and delicious sandwich. It's a family favorite in our household. The chicken is crispy and juicy. Its pickles are crunchy and tarter. It's served on a brioche bun. The chicken marinated with seasonings to give you that perfect taste. This sandwich is very flavorful.
WHAT IS A ZINGER BURGER?
Zinger burger is basically fried chicken sandwich. It's pack with flavor in every bite. It's marinate in buttermilk and other delicious seasonings. It's a fingerpicking recipe. You will be asking for me after every bite.
HOW TO MAKE BUTTERMILK?
Buttermilk is easily available in stores, but I like to make my buttermilk myself. Mix whole milk and white vinegar in a glass bowl. Let it sit for 10 minutes. You would see some lumps mix them together, and your buttermilk in ready.
HOW DO YOU MARINATE ZINGER BURGER?
In a large ziploc bag, place the chicken, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Equipment
- a gallon size ziploc bag
Ingredients
Buttermilk
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
Marination
- 3 chicken breast boneless and skinless
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp black pepper
- salt as needed
Breading
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
- salt as needed
- 4 eggs whipped in a seprate bowl
Frying
- 4-6 cups olive oil for frying
Assembly
- brioche buns
- lettuce
- tomatoes
- pickle chips
- mayonnaise
- butter room temperature
Instructions
Buttermilk
- Mix whole milk and white vinegar in a glass bowl.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- You would see some lumps mix them together with spoon and your buttermilk in ready.
Marination
- Pound the chicken breasts in between two pieces of parchment paper. Cut each chicken breast in half crosswise to make 2 small pieces of chicken about the same size. ( so it will fit in a bun)
- In a large ziploc bag, place the chicken, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
- Seal the ziploc, and shake it up the ziploc so every chicken piece gets coated well.
- Place it in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Breading
- In a bowl, add eggs and whipped them. Set it aside.
- In an another bowl, add all purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, cajun seasoning, salt, smoked paprika, and paprika and mix all the seasonings together.
- Take out the ziploc from the refridgator and open it.
- Take out a piece of chicken.
- Dip it in the flour mixture on both sides of the chicken, then dip the chicken in the whipped egg bowl on both sides, and then dip it back in the flour mixture on both sides, coat well.
Frying
- In a medium size fry pan, on medium heat.
- Heat the oil, then turn the heat medium to low now.
- Fry each side of the chicken for 4-5 minutes.
- Then take it out.
Assembly
- Apply butter on each size of the bun.
- Toast the buns.
- On the bottom bun, add the fried chicken piece, lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, mayonnaise, and place the top bun on top.
- Serve it hot, and Enjoy!
