Instant Pot 10-Minute Sweet Dahlia is easy and delicious. Dahlia is porridge. It comes together in no time perfect for breakfast.

    WHAT IS DAHLIA?

Instant Pot 10-Minute Sweet Dahlia is a South Asian version of porridge. It's easy and delicious with endless possibilities when talking about toppings. Although Most Pakistani and Indian people don't like to add topping. Dahlia originated in India and made its way to Pakistan. Check out other Pakistani/Indian breakfast recipes on the blog: Sooji Ka Halwa, Paratha, and Khagina.

I remember when I was little my mom used to feed me this version of Dahlia before school. This Pakistani/Indian recipe is an ideal meal for toddlers and little kids. It can be made in the Instant Pot.

    WHAT IS DAHLIA MADE OF?

Dalia is made of Cracked Wheat.

    INGREDIENTS

    • Dahlia- It's made with Cracked Wheat, this ingredient can't be substituted.
    • Sugar- I made it with regular sugar but you can substitute Stevia Splenda, or even honey.
    • Milk- I used full fat milk but you can substitute low fat milk.

    HOW TO MAKE DAHLIA?

Disclaimer: I know these aren't the Instant Pot pictures but that day my Instant Pot decided to stop working, so I had to make the recipe on the stovetop but I normally make it in the Instant Pot.

Add the cracked wheat in the Instant Pot, sautรฉ it until golden and add water bring to a boil and pressure it.

    It should look like this.

    Next add milk.

    Add sugar.

    Mix well!

    Enjoy!

    ADDITIONAL TOPPINGS

    • Strawberries
    • Blueberries
    • Banana
    • Chia seeds
    • Granola
    • Cherries
    • Peanut Butter
    • Almond Butter
    • Cookie Butter
    • White chocolate chips
    • Semi-sweet chocolate chips

    TIPS

    • You can adjust the consistency by adding or subtracting milk from this recipe.
    • Always use an Instant Pot or pressure cooker for this recipe, because I had to use stovetop it took a hour to cook the cracked wheat.
    • You can add as many or as little toppings as your heart desire.

HOW TO STORE IT AND REHEAT METHOD

Dahlia isn't a freezer-friendly recipe. It's a refrigerator-friendly recipe. Store it in an air-tight container. It should last 3-5 days in refrigerator. When ready to eat it just place it in a microwave. Add a splash of milk after reheating and utilize a fork to assist in breaking down the oats into the milk.

half shot of dahlia in a brown bowl.

Hey Friend, Youโ€™ve made it this far, so now weโ€™re basically best friends! If you make this recipe, Iโ€™d love for you to give it a quick review & star rating โ˜… below. Make sure you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
