Sarah- Hey I'm back with a different recipe. It's my Lacha Paratha recipe. This recipe is yummy, easy, and quick. It's one of favorite recipes when I have nothing in fridge and I don't want to cook. I can safely say Lacha Paratha is family favorite. Lacha Paratha is known for its spiral look and the flakey texture.
How to make the dough for Lacha Paratha?
Mix the ingreidents in the Kitchenaid mixer with the dough hook, once the dough has been formed, take it out of the mixer transfer it in airtight bowl that is greased in oil and sprinkle some flour in the bowl, transfer the dough in the bowl and close the airtight lid.
How to make the perfect Lacha Paratha?
- Divide the dough into equal portions, roughly the size of golf balls.
- Roll between your palms, applying gentle pressure, until the balls are smooth and without cracks. Make as many as you need and keep ready to roll out.
- Lightly coat one ball with flour. Doing this will prevent the ball from sticking to the rolling surface.
- Flatten the dough ball.
- Using a rolling pin, roll with circular motions until you have a 6-8 inch circle.Use half a teaspoon of oil, a pinch of salt, some atta (flour) and spread over the entire surface of the circle.
- Now fold the ½ inch, then lift it and fold in ½ inch again, keep on doing that until you have fold all the parathas.
- Now pick it up and strech it ¼-1/2 inch.Fold in the like a snake, and at the end fold in the dough's tail in the middle.
- Sprinkle some flour on the top and bottom of the dough.
- Roll it out in a circular shape 6-8 inches.
- Heat the fry pan or flat fry pan on medium heat. Drizzle some oil.
- Cook the paratha on both sides until it's orange-reddish in color.
