Pakistani Shimla Mirch Keema (Bell Pepper & Ground Beef Curry) is an ideal dinner dish due to its quick and effortless preparation. The dish is packed with flavors and has a mild spice level.
Pakistani Shimla Mirch Keema (Bell Pepper & Ground Beef Curry) is a flavorful yet simple dish that combines ground beef with vibrant bell peppers. Pair it with a warm chapati for the perfect comfort meal — my daughter loves having Kachumber on the side every single time I make it.

I fondly remember my paternal grandmother preparing this dish — Shimla Mirch Keema — a Pakistani classic that holds some of my sweetest childhood memories. I swear, no one made it like her; the aroma would fill the house, and we’d all hover around the stove waiting for her to say, “Bas ho gaya!” (It’s ready!).

Sometimes she’d switch things up and make Aloo Keema, and I’d sneak pieces of potato right out of the pot before it even hit the table.

This was actually one of the first recipes I made at the beginning of my marriage — partly because it reminded me of her warmth and partly because I wanted to recreate that same comfort for my new home. Every time I make Shimla Mirch or Aloo Keema now, it feels like she’s right there in the kitchen with me, smiling.
