Quick 2-Minute Homemade Salty Lassi With Black Salt is a popular Indian and Pakistani drink, is quick and easy to make at home in 5-minutes with a high-powered blender. Using full-fat yogurt and a secret ingredient—black salt—transforms your homemade lassi into a delightful treat!

    WHAT IS SALTY LASSI?

The Quick 5-Minute Homemade Salty Lassi Recipe with Black Salt is a refreshing Indian/Pakistani yogurt drink, ideal for hot summer days. This savory version of lassi brings the flavors of the streets of India and Pakistan to your kitchen with just a few key ingredients, including black salt. There's also a Sweet lassi version available on the blog!

three glasses of salty lassi on a 3 plates with black salt on the side in a bowl.

This Indian/Pakistani recipe is a staple in nearly every Pakistani and Indian restaurant. During my trips to Pakistan, I enjoy this drink almost every night, as part of our post-dinner tradition of stopping by a street stand for a fresh lassi. To capture that nostalgic taste from home (in Karachi, Pakistan), I recreated it in my own kitchen.

all the ingredients in a blender jug.

Mango Lassi, a popular Pakistani variant, adds a fruity twist to the traditional recipe. I also have various Pakistani/Indian drink recipes on the blog like: Shikanji and Falsay Ka Sharbat.

    BENEFITS OF MAKING SALTY LASSI?

    1. It's refreshing.
    2. It's great for weightloss because it has no sugar.
    3. It's gluten-free.
    4. It's great for digestion.
    5. It's light on your stomach because there's no sweetener.

WHAT DOES SALTY LASSI TASTE LIKE?

It possesses the flavor profile of a light, saline, diluted yogurt, maintaining a thinner consistency due to the blending process in the mixer.

    INGREDIENTS

    • Yogurt- I prefer full fat yogurt but you can also low fat yogurt.
    • Black Salt- The taste of black salt is very essential to any Lassi.
    • Salt- For a salty kick.

    HOW TO MAKE SALTY LASSI?

    Add yogurt in a blender.

Next add black salt, salt, ice cubes, and blend.

    Done, Enjoy!

    WHAT TO PAIR LASSI WITH?

Lassi is an incredibly versatile drink that pairs well with a range of meals. It complements dishes like Dal Gosht, Bhuna Gosht, and Chicken Biryani, adding a refreshing touch to any meal.

3 glasses of salty lassi with a bowl filled with black salt.

    HOW TO STORE IT?

Following the preparation of Lassi, ensure its chilled preservation by storing it in a pitcher or jug within the refrigerator. To secure the freshness, cover the top of the container with either plastic wrap or a lid, if available.
